Speaker Profile: Heidi Neumark


Author, Speaker and Pastor, Trinity Lutheran of Manhattan

Heidi Neumark is an author, speaker and Lutheran pastor who has served multicultural congregations in the South Bronx and presently in Manhattan. Her experiences in congregational and community organizing in the Bronx led to her first book. Breathing Space: A Spiritual Journey in the South Bronx. Her latest book is Hidden Inheritance: Family Secrets, Memory and Faith, about her discovery of Jewish roots. In her present position, Heidi also serves as the executive director of her church's shelter for homeless LGBTQ youth. 
Heidi grew up in New Jersey, graduated from Brown University and received her M.Div from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. She spent a year at an ecumenical seminary in Argentina where she engaged in human rights work. She has an honorary doctorate from Muhlenberg College. Heidi is married, has two adult children and lives in New York City.
