"Preaching and Politics"

Richard Rohr, OFM

Franciscan priest and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation

Richard Rohr is a Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province, where he founded the Center for Action and Contemplation over 30 years ago.  He spent 45 years of his public life preaching and giving retreat and conferences throughout the world, but now largely teaches close to home and especially on site in the LIVING SCHOOL based in Albuquerque, which also offers on-line courses.  His best-known books are Everything Belongs, Falling Upward, Immortal Diamond, and Breathing under Water.  He considers his primary vocation to be communicating the Gospel in a way that the modern and post-modern mind can appreciate, and particularly in integrating the mystical core of Christianity with its social and political implications. He considers the contemplative mind the key to interpreting the Scriptures.
