Relinquishing and Re-imagining: Tuesday at #Homiletics2017

Tuesday, the first full day of the festival, began with worship at both Travis Park Methodist Church and the Scottish Rite Theater. Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, liturgist Dawn Hand and musicians Ashley Cleveland and Joshua Sommerville started the morning out with our minds stayed on Jesus at Travis Park, while Nadia Bolz-Weber, David Gambrell and William McConnell brought us into worship with all our hearts.

Linguistic Lessons and Preaching Pyrotechnics: 25th Festival of Homiletics Opening Night

Welcome to the 25th Annual Festival of Homiletics in San Antonio, Texas!

With just over 1,800 registrants, this year's Festival is one of the largest yet. The first evening of the Festival began at the Lila Cockrell Theater at the beautiful Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center with a helpful session on Tips for First Time Attendees followed by a welcome to all from David Howell and Dawn Alitz

Day 1: Your Preaching Resource

Many thanks to our Festival of Homiletics 2017 partner Day1! 

Day 1 began broadcasting in 1945 as "The Protestant Hour" and has been on the air every week since, currently on more than 200 stations. Day1 is a ministry of the Alliance for Christian Media, a nonprofit mainline media ministry based in Atlanta, GA. The Alliance was created after the merger of The Protestant Hour, Inc. and the Episcopal Media Center, which was founded in 1945 and originally called The Episcopal Radio and TV Foundation.
