Speaker Profile: Otis Moss III

Bio

The Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III is the Senior Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, IL. Otis Moss III previously served as pastor of the historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga. He speaks and preaches at churches, seminaries and colleges worldwide. Pulpit Journal recently named Moss one of the 20 ministers to watch who will shape the future of the African-American church. Belief.net named Moss one of the future religious leaders who will impact the African- American church. Newsweek magazine cited Moss as one of “God’s foot soldiers,” committed to transforming the lives of youth.

A graduate of Morehouse College, he earned a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School. While at Yale, Moss was awarded the FTE Benjamin Elijah Mays Scholarship in Religion and the Yale University Magee Fellowship. He is the author of “Redemption in a Red Light District.” His essays, articles and poetry have appeared in The African-American Pulpit Journal.
