Speaker Profile: MaryAnn McKibben Dana

Bio

MaryAnn McKibben Dana is pastor of Idylwood Presbyterian Church in Falls Church, Virginia. She is author of Sabbath in the Suburbs, a Chalice Press bestseller and a “must read for 2013” by Ministry Matters. Her forthcoming book is Links, Likes, and Follows: Spirituality for the Smartphone Age through Bondfire Books. Her writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Religion Dispatches, Journal for Preachers, the Christian Century and in a monthly column for Presbyterians Today. She was recently featured on PBS’s Religion and Ethics Newsweekly.

She is a sought-after speaker, conference leader and writer around issues of leadership, faith formation, technology, and congregational transformation. She is co-chair of NEXT Church, a movement within the Presbyterian Church (USA) that seeks to call forth vital ministry for our changing cultural context. MaryAnn is a graduate of Rice University in Houston, Texas and received her M.Div. from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.
