Minneapolis Highlight #4 - Charities

Next up in our highlights of Minneapolis are some of the area's charities. The list below is by no means all-inclusive, but is a starting point to learning about the different charitable organizations in the Minnesota Twin Cities metro area!

Achieve Minneapolis

As the nonprofit partner of the Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS), AchieveMpls serves as a bridge between MPS and our broader community – businesses, foundations, nonprofits, government agencies and individuals – providing information and opportunities to engage as volunteers, employers, funders, advocates and advisers.

Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis

Catholic Charities serves those most in need. We are a leader at solving poverty, creating opportunity and advocating for justice in the community. For over 140 years, Catholic Charities has served the poorest and most vulnerable of our community. Today, we are the largest comprehensive social service nonprofit in the Twin Cities region. Catholic Charities annually helps 35,000 people, regardless of faith.

The Center for Victims of Torture

At our international headquarters in Minnesota, we provide torture survivors with a healing sanctuary and help them rebuild their lives. We also work with refugee communities, training leaders to promote healing within their communities. 

Global Health Ministires

We are an instrument through which your love and compassion are channeled for the health and hope of God's children around the world! GHM is: A response to the Good News of Jesus, the "Great Physician" Sharing our abundant resources to impact the lives of disadvantaged children and adults in other parts of the world Direct involvement by individuals and congregations in Christ's healing ministry "Helping the Hands that Heal."

Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities

Union Gospel Mission is a Christian ministry dedicated to serving the homeless, poor, and addicted in our community. By meeting physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs, our Mission is changing lives!
