Senior Minister, Elgin-Portland Pastoral Charge

Rev. Takouhi Demirdjian-Petro was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon in an Armenian Family. Her father, born in Bursa, was an infant survivor of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Her mother was born in Beirut, Lebanon into an Armenian family who had escaped the Genocide from Marash. Both towns are located in present-day Turkey. Rev. Retired Baptist pastor and former teacher of New Testament studies at Lexington Theological Seminary and Baylor University.

Sharyn earned the B.A from Wake Forest University, the M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the PhD. in New Testament from Emory University. She has taught at Wake Forest, Lexington Theological Seminary, and Baylor University. Rev. A native of Detroit, Dr. Andrews is an Associate Professor of Music Theory and African American Music at Emory University and Senior Minister of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Atlanta.
